The New Day is Here

Our next segment of the night features an appearance from the current SmackDown Live Tag Team Champions; The Usos. Addressing the crowd right off the bat, they observe that people aren’t happy with them. Naturally, the duo assumes it’s because the brothers are still the champions after last week. From here, they insult their fellow tag teams and even take a shot at the Atlanta Falcons.

While The Usos wanted to continue their tirade, a familiar trio decided that they had heard enough. All of a sudden, Big E’s voice echoed throughout the arena as he gave the traditional New Day intro. Then, all three men appeared on the stage before making their way to the ring. Xavier Woods took over things from here, giving a shout-out to his mother and hometown crowd before shifting focus to the Usos. Kofi decides to say a few words too, but this is where the Usos chose to interrupt the trio.

Welcoming the team to the Uso Penitentiary, the Tag Team Champions reveal that the tag division already belongs to them. Doubting the claim, the New Day tells The Usos that the time for them to get real is now. Unbeknownst to them, it turns out that the champions have a big match at Money in the Bank. Asking fans who in their usual comedic bit, the New Day reveal that it’s them. For good measure, they reveal that the match has already been made official by Shane McMahon. The New Day celebrate the reveal with a dance as The Usos leave the scene.

All in all, this was a great segment which gave a huge boost to the tag team division. Having a team with the credibility the New Day brings is great for business as well as the overall roster. Their upcoming contest with The Usos promises to be an exciting and memorable contest.
