Becky Lynch vs Carmella vs Charlotte Flair vs Natalya vs Tamina Snuka
Result: N/A (Bell never rang)
Rating: 4.0 out of 5 stars
Before the next match, another exciting edition of the Fashion Files aired. This time, Fandango and Tyler Breeze are on a mission to discover the culprit who vandalized their personal office.
Shifting focus back to the ring, our next match is the five-way match to determine a new number one contender to the Women’s Championship. The winner will go on to face Naomi in the near future, most likely at Money in the Bank.
Once all of the entrances concluded, the women began an intense brawl before the bell was sounded. The ringside officials tried to restore order to start the contest, but the athletes were having none of it. Things really came to a head when Natalya decided to engage Charlotte outside of the ring.
Sending Natalya into the steel steps, Charlotte received a huge response from the crowd as she powerbombed the Canadian athlete through the announce table. As referees came out to check on the clearly hurt athlete, Shane McMahon made his way to the scene.
Giving credit where it’s due, Shane announces the respect that he has for the current Women’s Division. Because of the level of intensity and competition, he decides to make history here tonight. At Money in the Bank, all five of these women will compete in the first ever female MiTB ladder match. The segment ends with the crowd vocalizing their support as the superstars reacted to the announcement.
This is without a doubt a huge announcement for the Women’s Division. Kudos to all the women involved, as their hard work is what made such a match even possible. Here’s hoping that they’re able to tear the house down.
