The Viper is Ready

For the first time since losing the WWE Championship to Jinder Mahal, Randy Orton is present on SmackDown Live. Dressed in normal clothing, he begins the promo by hyping all of the superstars he’s beaten over the years. He then addresses his family’s lineage in professional wrestling, and how they’d be embarrassed about his loss to Mahal. Rather than talk about how he plans on winning the rematch, the Viper wants everyone to witness it instead.

As far as Orton is concerned, Mahal is going to have a tough fight ahead of him at Money in the Bank. The event is taking place in his hometown of St. Louis, Missouri, and it’s there that he plans to win yet another world title. To him, this is a must-win situation.

Deciding that he’d heard enough of Orton’s promo, the WWE Champion opted to appear on the titantron. Comparing the Viper to the American people (which he believes are ignorant), Mahal goes ahead and talks down the United States in the process. With the Singh Brothers applauding beside him, Mahal raises the WWE Championship and stares into the camera.

This marked the end of the segment, and Orton chose to do his trademark pose in the corner before the focus turned elsewhere. If these two men continue to produce performances that are similar to tonight, their program at MiTB is going to be very interesting, to say the least. I’m fully confident that they have the potential to do so.
