Six Sides of Steel for the GFW Championship and No. 1 Contender Spot
Alberto El Patron(c) vs Ethan Carter III
Alberto El Patron uses the cage to his advantage early in the match giving him a chance for an early escape. This aggression gives EC3 a chance to fight back into the match and use the cage for his own offense. Every time El Patron tries to escape, it ends badly for the champion. Carter looks like he has regained control after El Patron felt like he could escape. The pendulum starts to swing between the two competitors.
The match begins to hit its late stages and the two begin to show their number of battles through reversals. Much like their previous encounter, Alberto El Patron locks in the cross armbreaker that defeated EC3 before. Ethan Carter fights it off and the two battle at the top of the cage. El Patron hits his signature double foot stomp and follows it up with a frog splash. Alberto El Patron becomes the number one contender for the Impact World Championship and retains the GFW Global Championship in the process.

This was another match where it felt like the two were going to pull out all the stops to win. Not only was it in six sides of steel but there was so much on the line. As an EC3 fan, you would cringe knowing that he lost the cross armbreaker the last time but either way, there is no losing in this match. As Alberto El Patron hit the ridiculous double foot stomp, everyone is looking forward to El Patron’s chance at redemption.
