Kendo Stick-on-a-Pole Match for the RAW Women’s Championship
Alexa Bliss (c) vs Bayley

Alexa Bliss’ main roster run so far has been, in a word, confusing.  After being drafted to Smackdown last July, “Five Feet of Fury” was seen as a future superstar.  And why not?  She’s great in the ring, has stunning good looks, and wow, can that girl talk.  So it wasn’t surprising to see her snatch her first world title in less than 6 months.  However, her title reign never really picked up any steam and before long she was drafted to RAW.  3 weeks later she had that title, defeating Bayley at Payback.  Now, once again, the engine seems stalled.  And that was no more apparent than the ridiculous “This Is Your Life” segment from last Monday’s show.  The creative team really isn’t helping Bliss out one bit.

So Sunday night, Bliss’s title reign could potentially pick up some much needed steam.  And let’s get this out of the way now: Bliss wins.  Count on it.  For one, she’s not going to drop the title that quickly.  What would be the point of that?  And two, if Bliss’s title runs have been a bit underwhelming, than Bayley’s 76 day run at the beginning of the year was a disaster.  She’ll need to take a backseat for a little while and let some of the other girls fight for the title.

It’ll be nice to see the ladies let out some aggression Sunday night.  Too often have the females of the WWE have been saddled with silly, insulting Extreme Rules matches.  Is the kendo stick-on-a-pole the best match gimmick?  No.  But it’s far better than watching the amazing crop of current girls wrestle in a pool of pudding or a hog pen.  This should be pretty good while it lasts but make no mistake, Bliss keeps the belt.

Winner and still champion: Alexa Bliss
