2. Edge vs The Undertaker – One Night Stand: Extreme Rules 2008

The Undertaker has a had a lot of great rivalries over the course of his amazing career.  Shawn Michaels, Steve Austin, Kane, and Triple H all come to mind when thinking about Taker’s biggest foes.  But his feud with Edge that lasted nearly a year and a half from 2007 to 2008 was not only the best rivalry in the company during that time span, but it also produced some of Taker’s greatest matches.

It all started in July of 2007 when Edge cashed in his Money In The Bank briefcase on The Deadman on an episode of Smackdown, winning the World Heavyweight Championship.  But later that month, Edge injured his shoulder and had to vacate the title but returned in November of that same year and he and Taker picked up where they left off.  Edge got the belt back in December and defended it an amazing battle with his rival in the Wrestlemania 24 main event where the The Undertaker was the winner.  They battled twice more at Payback and Judgement Day, both fantastic matches and both Taker wins, before this war at Extreme Rules.  This match, a TLC one, was right up Edge’s alley but Taker would hear none of it.  He viciously pummeled Edge for the better part of 24 minutes and it was only after major interference from Edge’s buddies, La Familia, that The Rated R Superstar was victorious.

3 months later the duo would have their final war in the main event of SummerSlam in a Hell In A Cell and for all intents and purposes was probably the best match of their program.  But if that was number one, this match was a very close second and very easily on of the best TLC matches of all time.
