2. Edge (on John Cena)

Being the Ultimate Opportunist, Edge has made another appearance on this list with another cash in. Or, as I should say, the first cash in.

That’s right. Edge was the first ever Money in the Bank ladder match winner, which means he was also the first to cash in the Money in the Bank briefcase, and he did it in a way that set the precedent for cash ins for heels and even some babyfaces.

After a brutal Elimination Chamber match at New Year’s Revolution, John Cena was left bloody and battered in the ring, but he still managed to come out with the WWE Championship.

Then, Vince McMahon came out to announce that Edge was cashing in his opportunity of a title match, and Edge made his way to the ring and the match begun.

Edge hit Cena with a spear, and Cena (at this point it’s not surprising) kicked out. Although, another spear did the trick as Edge went on to claim his first ever WWE Championship.

No one had any idea if the Money in the Bank idea would be a hit or miss, but the impact it made at New Year’s Revolution made the Money in the Bank a staple of WWE programming.

This also catapulted Edge’s career into the main event scene as he begun his most intense rivalry with John Cena. If there is one person that has earned the name Mr. Money in the Bank, it’s Edge.
