At Survivor Series in 2015, every WWE fan’s biggest fear finally became a reality. Roman Reigns had won the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.
The confetti had showered Reigns, and Triple H came out to congratulate Roman Reigns, and we all thought that was the end of it.
Luckily, WWE was smart enough (this time) to see that Roman Reigns would get absolutely rejected by the crowd as the top face and champion of the company. So, WWE pulled a huge swerve.
After Roman Reigns speared The Game, Reigns ate a Brogue Kick outta nowhere from Sheamus. Sheamus then cashed in his Money in the Bank briefcase and went to pin the newly crowned champ.
Reigns surprisingly kicked out, which scared a lot of us into thinking that Reigns could potentially pull through and miraculously retain against Sheamus. Then, Reigns was suddenly hit with a Brogue Kick once again, and Sheamus was the new WWE World Heavyweight Champion.
Sheamus cashing in his Money in the Bank briefcase saved Reigns from absolute rejection from the crowd and made for a memorable and exciting cash in.
