Kalisto vs. Apollo Crews (w/ Titus O’Neil)

Result: Apollo Crews defeated Kalisto via pinfall

Rating: 2.0 out of 5 stars

After Kalisto had a rematch with Titus O’Neil last week, now he gets a rematch with Crews. The wrinkle this time? Akira Tozawa is at ringside, because Titus is till trying to woo him to the Titus Brand.

If you recall, these two had one of the best matches of the night at Extreme Rules, albeit on the pre-show. Tonight is a different beast for a variety of reasons. It’s not a terrible match, but there’s no time for it to gel into the good stuff we got eight days ago.

Of course, one reason it’s a different beast is the greater focus on the stuff outside the ring. With Tozawa being courted, too much focus is on him at ringside. Poor Kalisto is jumping and flipping his fool head off, and the camera crew just keeps cutting to Akira trying to look around Titus.

I will say that the visual of Titus just picking Tozawa up and lifting him over the barricade was pretty funny. And, hey, Crews picked up a clean victory! When was the last time he did that?

Heath Slater & Rhyno Are National Treasures

The Miz tries using his Hollywood connections to get Heath Slater to join his “entourage.” I like that Slater actually considered it. Even more, I like that Rhyno got more and more indignant as he ate his spray cheese. And I loved that The Miz had a big problem with said spray cheese. Slater won’t agree unless he gets a shot at the Intercontinental Title, and Rhyno tells Miz to find a tag partner for later.
