I put in word to Elias Sports Bureau for confirmation, but I’m fairly certain this is the first time a pair of movie costars have faced off in a tag team match with a non-human as their tag partner.

As a fan of things like CHIKARA and Chuck Taylor’s invisible grenades, I could bear-ly contain my excitement for this match. Watching MizBear ride the tricycle down the ramp made me smile in a way pro wrestling doesn’t achieve often. I mean, you had to know after last week’s fake-out that the bear absolutely had to be Ambrose this week. But the joy came from watching just how far he’d run with it.

And, boy, did he run with it. The bear used nothing but his paws and a bear hug for offense! That’s incredible!

Of course, at some point, Miz had to realize it was Ambrose under there and attack his “partner.” And, again, it wasn’t Ambrose – at first. Some camera trickery allowed a swap to get a second bear into the ring – this time, it was the Lunatic Fringe.

Setting it up so Slater gets the pin makes me excited for the inevitable Slater-Miz Intercontinental Championship classic we’re getting. But for all the talk of Miz and Slater and The Marine 5: Battleground, Rhyno had the best reaction shots of the evening.
