Highlights of the Division

The brawl between Samoa Joe and Brock Lesnar was the perfect way to illustrate the challenger’s legitimacy in the face of the champion. The last time a brawl ensued involving Brock Lesnar was with the Undertaker on RAW in August 2015. So the fact that Joe looked like he was on equal footing with Lesnar in their brawl before the locker-room broke them up is amazing news for the No. 1 Contender. Joe might have a serious shot at having a quality match with the Beast and could potentially win the Universal Championship at Great Balls of Fire.

The premise of the feud between Bray Wyatt and Seth Rollins is somewhat silly. Wyatt cost Rollins his match with Joe last week because of a few insults is mediocre, to say the least. Both men will need to rack up some quality wins to justify this feud because at this point—it looks like there isn’t any long-term benefit to this program.

Meanwhile, for the Rest of the Division

Roman Reigns announcement for next week should be calling out Braun Strowman for a match at Summerslam. They each own a pay per view win over the other and this rubber match could be considered the finale. If it isn’t Strowman that Reigns is calling out—it should be the winner of the Universal Championship match between Samoa Joe and Brock Lesnar.

As for Finn Balor, nothing is planned for him at the moment but the WWE should consider turning him heel and forming the Club. Having him rejoin Anderson and Gallows is the jumpstart the Demon King needs to be included in WWE’s main event plans for the future. Balor won’t surpass Reigns and Rollins in the babyface pecking order so he’ll need to stand out as the new leader of the Club.

These are the rankings for the division this week.
