3. And The New (Day) Tag Team Champions
Change is coming at the top of the SmackDown tag team division.
Day One may no longer be “H”, but it’ll be (The New) Day One of a brand new SmackDown Tag Team Championship reign.
The New Day have made quite the impact since finally making their SmackDown Live debuts just a few weeks ago. Their arrival had been long anticipated since it was announced they had been traded via the Superstar Shakeup.
The trio of Kofi Kingston, Big E and Xavier Woods have given the SmackDown tag team division a spark of life, and they will take the gold away from The Usos on Sunday night.
This is a rivalry that should continue into SummerSlam. By winning the titles at Money in the Bank, The Usos can setup their rematch at August’s event. Maybe Breezango and American Alpha will work their way into the feud to setup a Fatal-4 Way Tag Team Match for the titles.
Just last year The New Day finished a record-setting 483-day reign as Raw Tag Team Champions. Don’t expect them to hold the titles that long again, but it’s their turn to lead the tag division on SmackDown.
