WWE SummerSlam is around the corner, so how could the match card look after Money in the Bank?

On Sunday night, the WWE Money in the Bank pay-per-view came and went. It brought fans one step closer to SummerSlam, which is WWE’s second biggest show of the year.

Nothing for SummerSlam is official, although Roman Reigns is set to make an announcement for the show on Monday’s episode of Raw. There’s also two PPVs before this show — Battleground and Great Balls of Fire — so plenty more will be seen over the next four-plus weeks.

Could inklings of the SummerSlam card be known after Money in the Bank, though? Let’s take a look in our projections for the show:

The New Day (c) vs. The Usos

At Money in the Bank, The New Day challenged for the SmackDown Tag Team Championship. They came close to topping The Usos, but the champs left the match and took a countout finish. So things are likely not done between these teams.

Before SummerSlam, there’s the Battleground PPV, which is also exclusive to SmackDown Live. Expect a rematch for there, unless it takes place on the weekly cable show. If so, then it may take these teams out of a match in August.

The end game seems like New Day winning the SmackDown Tag Team Championship. They can run the SmackDown Tag Team Division, which was formerly at the bottom of the barrel in the WWE. It’s still building, so putting the biggest faces of the division at the top can help cap off a slow build to relevancy.

As for The Usos, they’ve quietly had a good run as champions. It seemed close to ending at Money in the Bank, though, and probably will be done by July or August.
