WWE Rumors: Stone Cold Steve Austin to Appear on Raw?
Stone Cold Steve Austin’s appearance on WWE Raw isn’t guaranteed, but recently got speculated on by Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer.
Stone Cold Steve Austin is one of WWE’s biggest stars of all time — maybe at the top of the list. He won over WWE fans in the late 1990’s and early 2000’s, and is still popular, even after walking away from the ring in 2003.
However, appearances on WWE programming have come few and far between for Austin. He last showed up at WrestleMania 32, helping Shawn Michaels and Mick Foley in a post-match segment, as they beat down The League of Nations.
Well, it’s possible the Texas Rattlesnake makes his way to Raw on Monday. Wrestling Observer Radio’s Dave Meltzer (h/t Wrestling Inc) recently speculated that an appearance for Austin could be in the works, as WWE is printing “Los Angeles 3:16 shirts.” Monday’s show will emanate from the Staples Center in Los Angeles, CA. Austin also resides nearby.
What kind of impact could Austin make? Well, his past appearances have been one-off’s, with the exception of him stepping in for a program in 2011, as the guest referee for Michael Cole and Jerry Lawler’s WrestleMania XXVII match. In other words, don’t expect long-term implications from what Stone Cold potentially does on Raw — if he shows up.
Maybe Austin does a segment with one of WWE’s top stars, like Roman Reigns, Braun Strowman, Brock Lesnar or Samoa Joe. How he fits into this, would be interesting to see unfold, but when someone like this WWE Hall of Famer shows up on Raw, it has to mean something, right?
Austin’s rumored appearance comes amidst Pro Wrestling Sheet’s report on LaVar Ball showing up on Raw. He’s the outspoken father of Los Angeles Lakers guard Lonzo Ball, who has made headlines throughout 2017.
