Welcome to the WWE Smackdown Division Rankings for the June 27 episode. Let’s dive in and take a closer look.
These are the power rankings for each division on WWE Smackdown Live for this following week. Each division would be ranked based on storyline progression and win/loss record as of 2017.
Also, each division would be divided by contenders and pretenders, to differentiate the challengers in their respective division. I’ll also highlight a specific superstar in each division and explain their ranking based on their actions. Win/Loss record is provided by CageMatch.Net.
Each superstar or tag team can move up or down the rankings based on victory, defeat or storyline progression. Let’s get right to the rankings.
The Smackdown Live Women’s Division
Highlights of the division
Carmella winning the Money in the Bank ladder match was a no-brainer and the main-event victory firmly established her as a cornerstone of WWE Smackdown Live. The comparisons with her and WWE Hall of Famer Edge are uncanny, especially the last sequence of the match when she rammed the steel chair on Becky Lynch before grabbing the briefcase.
The WWE has a superstar in their hands but the key to making her the champion is delicate. She’ll need to cash in at a pay per view like Summerslam to maximize the coverage of her monumental championship victory. Dollar signs should be the only thing floating around the WWE when Carmella does eventually cash in her briefcase.
Naomi retaining her championship in quick fashion over Lana was eye-raising especially with the previous match they had at Money in the Bank. The fact that Lana lost like that means she will be considered a pretender but has the potential to climb up the rankings with some quality wins. As for Naomi, she might be looking for another title defense at Battleground but who would challenge her is still foggy at the moment.
The fallout after the Money in the Bank ladder match should be addressed in the next episode of WWE Smackdown Live. Charlotte should be considered the favorite to challenge Naomi at Battleground for the Women’s Championship since she wasn’t owed her title rematch back in April. That would be one heck of a title match for the division and keep both Naomi and Carmella away from each other for the short-term.
Let’s see the rankings for the division this week.
