3. John Cena

Other than the Independence Day Battle Royal, the other promoted event for Tuesday’s July 4th special of SmackDown Live is the return of the one and only John Cena.

John Cena, the Superstar that is so American that he gets to host a show called American Grit will be coming back to WWE in timely fashion. He will be able to celebrate America and the WWE all in one episode of SmackDown Live.

While John Cena’s return will most likely include a high-end feud with someone like WWE Champion Jinder Mahal, that most likely will not happen until SummerSlam if it does happen.

That means that Cena has an open schedule for the upcoming Battleground PPV. John Cena was once a great United States Champion, and he also had a great feud with Kevin Owens in the past.

So, it may not come as a surprise if John Cena’s return announcement is to go into the Independence Day Battle Royal and face Kevin Owens at Battleground. This would be a high-end feud that would be needed with the lack of ratings Mahal has brought in with his feud with Randy Orton.

It also would be a nice clash as Cena was the originator of the United States Championship Open Challenge that Owens has tarnished the reputation of.

The Champ may be back Tuesday night to reclaim his title for America.
