SmackDown Live Women’s Championship Match
Naomi (c) vs Lana

Result: Naomi wins via submission

Rating: 2.5 out of 5 stars

Our next match of the night is the Women’s Championship contest between Naomi and Lana. As soon as the bell rang, the champion floored Lana with a vicious kick to the head. Moments later, Naomi locked in her patented submission finisher for the quick victory. Just like that, Lana has gone from an aspiring talent to a complete joke.

While Naomi celebrated her victory, Tamina Snuka came down to the ring to attend to a fallen Lana. Helping her to her feet, the duo left together, signaling a potential partnership moving forward. They likely aren’t destined for a prolonged push, but perhaps being paired together will allow them to keep some form of momentum.

After the segment, the cameras went to the backstage area, where Dasha Fuentes was scheduled to interview Shinsuke Nakamura. However, the interview never got the chance to start, as Baron Corbin struck the King of Strong Style from behind. Using the Money in the Bank briefcase to his advantage, he talked trash as officials separated the two men.

Next up, the rap battle between the New Day and The Usos took place. If you didn’t have a chance to watch this live, you owe it to yourself to check it out. This was a segment where a ton of real-life shots were taken, including the Usos referencing the pornographic video featuring Xavier Woods and Paige. Plus, each team brought their own entourages, which also added an element of comedy to the mix. While the New Day were given the win due to a disqualification (The Usos started a brief fight), the Tag Team Champions shined brighter in this segment.
