A vignette was played for Drew McIntyre. What will he eventually do on WWE NXT?

McIntyre then got interviewed, and commented on the upcoming NXT Championship match. He said we’ll talk about his title match next time, and name-dropped a handful of past champions in NXT history.

Killian Dain’s name got mentioned as another potential competitor. No. 1 Contenders match incoming?

DIY Breakup Vignette

A video was played of Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa’s split from NXT TakeOver: Chicago. Extremely unfortunate that Ciampa will miss the next eight months.

It was then announced that Gargano will return on next Wednesday’s episode of WWE NXT. What he’s shoehorned into doing, will be interesting to follow.

Peyton Royce and Billie Kay Interview

Kay and Royce were interviewed from the Performance Center. They felt disrespected over no celebration for Kay’s birthday and mostly ignored the question about the Mae Young Classic.

However, Andrade “Cien” Almas and Thea Trinidad were seen arguing in the background. Almas was asked about this, but stormed off.

Mae Young Classic Qualifier Recap

Bianca BelAir vs. Aliyah was recapped. This saw BelAir win and earn a spot in the Mae Young Classic. She’s mostly unknown to the TV-viewing audience of WWE NXT. Aliyah is known, but after all these months, she still hasn’t broken through. That wasn’t going to come at the MYC, which will be for outside faces and ones that have seen little to no on-screen time in NXT.
