Akira Tozawa (w/ Titus O’Neil) & Cedric Alexander vs. Noam Dar (w/ Alicia Fox) & Neville

Result: Akira Tozawa & Cedric Alexander defeated Noam Dar & Neville via pinfall

Rating: 2.75 out of 5 stars

Oh, boy, now the never-ending love triangle saga on 205 Live is encompassing the championship, too? You would think all of these seemingly final matches would have actually ended things, but there’s an I Quit match coming up on Tuesday. So we’re blessed with one more appearance on Raw this week.

Of course, the whole beginning sequence of the match is built around Cedric/Dar/Fox and their issues. I’m sure Neville is completely entertained by these happenings. When Tozawa and Neville get in the ring with each other, it’s almost like a tease – you know there’s going to be more relationship nonsense.

I gotta admit, Titus O’Neil has been great in this role of “let’s get the Dragon Gate guys over”. Apollo Crews has a character, Tozawa is getting more of a shake it seems – all good things. Bet Kalisto feels pretty dumb right now!

The match was exciting towards the end, but the finish – TOZAWA HAS PINNED THE CRUISERWEIGHT CHAMPION! – is just more lazy booking to build to a rematch. Neville has been bulletproof since entering the cruiserweight division, but all of a sudden he’s taking a fall in a tag match to his strongest challenger? Why not just pull the trigger on the title change last night?
