4 Predictions for WWE SmackDown Live: July 11, 2017

By the end of last week’s Fourth of July edition of SmackDown Live, there were a number of exciting developments which impacted the Blue Brand. Here is everything you should know heading into tonight’s episode:
Emerging victorious in the SmackDown Live battle royal, AJ Styles earned the right to meet Kevin Owens at Battleground for the United States Championship. However, this past Friday, the Phenomenal One won the title during a live event. His win is awesome in terms of his career, but how will this impact Owens moving forward?
As a result of his frequent interference and overall annoying demeanor, James Ellsworth has been suspended for thirty days. Should he come back prematurely, his “friend” Carmella will be stripped of her Money in the Bank briefcase.
For the first time since WrestleMania 33, John Cena made his return to WWE programming on last week’s episode. Announcing his intention to battle talents across both shows, Cena was interrupted by a returning Rusev. Their interaction led to a flag match being confirmed between the two for the Battleground event.
On two separate occasions, Sami Zayn has accidentally interrupted Mike and Maria Kanellis as they attempted to enlighten audiences on the “Power of Love”. Due to this, expect a conflict involving these three to arise sooner rather than later.
Without even breaking a sweat, Naomi retained her championship for the third consecutive time against Lana. With the Ravishing Russian soundly defeated, it’s only a matter of time before a new challenger is introduced.
Choosing to spar verbally rather than physically last week, Jinder Mahal and Randy Orton hyped up their upcoming Punjabi Prison match. Can the Viper win yet another world title, or is the Maharajah set to continue his recent dominance?
