Charlotte Flair & Becky Lynch vs Natalya & Tamina Snuka
Result: Natalya and Tamina Snuka win via pinfall
Rating: 4.0 out of 5 stars
In an effort to promote the upcoming number one contender’s match at Battleground, SmackDown Live presented a female tag team match. The contest featured Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair took on the team of Natalya and Tamina Snuka. During the early portion of the contest, Becky and Charlotte managed to keep the heel duo at bay. The didn’t have control of the match for long though, as Natalya eventually struck back at Charlotte and slowed the pace.
Later on in the contest, Becky would try to end things after a hot tag. Similar to Charlotte, it wasn’t long before the heels took her down as well. For awhile it seemed like the heels were destined to win, however, the Queen of WWE had one last bit of fight within her.
As Charlotte made the hot tag and absolutely cleaned house, Lana decided to run down to the ring. Offering a distraction, she drew Charlotte’s gaze long enough for Tamina to take advantage with a superkick. The move was enough to earn her team the victory, and so the duo returned to the back alongside Lana.
While Becky and Charlotte recovered inside of the ring, Maria Kanellis was shown backstage looking for Sami Zayn. She eventually found the Underdog and Underground, and by this point Mike Kanellis was present as well. Demanding another apology for his frequent interruptions, their request was denied by Zayn. Insulted that they asked him to do so, Zayn questioned the couple’s purpose on SmackDown Live. This caused Maria to slap him, and Mike decided to crack a vase over his head for good measure.
