Ember Moon vs. Lei’d Tapa
Result: Moon def. Tapa via Eclipse
Rating: Squash
Lei’d Tapa started off quickly with a series of clubbing blows. Ember Moon was able to quickly turned it around by leveraging her quickness and agility. Moon landed a cool Tornado Suplex off the top rope before landing a raw Eclipse on Tapa.
During her post match promo, Ember Moon says she wants Asuka at Takeover: Brooklyn. The undefeated empress of tomorrow has been on a tear through NXT ever since her debuts, and he demands a worthy opponent. Ironically, the last time these two fought one-on-one at NXT Takeover: Orlando Asuka was forced to used some underhanded actions to defeat Moon. Asuka pushed the referee into the ropes in order to prevent Moon from landing the Eclipse.
Then, during a No. 1 contendership on the May 3 match between Ruby Riot and Nikki Cross, Asuka assaulted all 3 women and legitimately injured Moon. Moon missed the subsequent title match. Since then she has been dominating all comers. It seems we are headed towards a showdown at NXT Takeover: Brooklyn III.
Aleister Black Vignette
We’re treated to a good Aleister Black vignette that highlights his striking ability and ambiguous nature.
