WWE: Is Shinsuke Nakamura Going to Become Roman Reigns 2.0?

Shinsuke Nakamura is set to challenge current WWE Champion, Jinder Mahal at this year’s SummerSlam event. Some fans are happy and others, as surprising as it may sound, are not.

This week on WWE SmackDown Live, The King Of Strong Style, Shinsuke Nakamura picked up perhaps the biggest win (so far) in his run with WWE, beating John Cena thus making him the number 1 contender for the WWE Championship at SummerSlam and to all the John Cena detractors who still say that he buries every superstar he gets in the ring with I say, take a look at this match. To all the Shinsuke Nakamura haters, I simply say… come on!

Since Nakamura first arrived on the scene in WWE NXT, he’s gotten nothing but praise and admiration from the WWE universe. His energetic and admittedly at times, awkward entrance has been a pretty big deal. His matches, for the most part, have been pretty entertaining and exciting to watch. Still, it seems like some fans don’t care for Nakamura’s style of wrestling and while it’s true that literally, every wrestler on the planet has their share of doubters, it seems as though Nakamura is beginning to face an unusual amount of criticism since his big win against Cena.

My only fear is that Nakamura ends up getting the Roman Reigns treatment. You know, the treatment where everyone hates you no matter what you do and there’s no way you can change it because you’ve been forced down peoples throats for far too long, so everyone just starts getting fed up with you and sometimes, you get booed just because you’re you and it feels as if it will never come to an end? Yeah, that treatment.

On the other hand, there are superstars like Sheamus, who at one point wasn’t exactly a “fan favorite” when he was intended to be. If you don’t know or remember, allow me to refresh your memory bank. It was WrestleMania 28. At the time the World Heavyweight Champion was Danial Bryan and opposing him was that year’s Royal Rumble winner, The Celtic Warrior, Sheamus. Not only was the match placed on the card first, but it lasted less than a measly minute. To make a long story short, the superstar that won the match was Sheamus. Which at the time meant that he was an automatic heel in the fans minds.

The next time Sheamus wrestled he was booed and for a while, this was a trend. Luckily for him, he was able to recover. Some people, unfortunately, just don’t have the kind of luck.
