Gone are the days when a young, up and coming tag team named American Alpha took WWE Smackdown Live by storm. Now is apparently the donning of a new era, an era no one really seems to care about.
On July 17, 2017, the WWE universe finally got what they had been waiting for. Yes, that’s right! After months of speculation about what Kurt Angle’s big secret was, we finally find out that former Smackdown Tag Team title holder, Jason Jordan, is his biological son. As many of you may remember, when this was first revealed, very few people seemed to care and things don’t seem to be getting any better.
On the latest edition of Monday Night Raw, Jordan stepped into the ring with Jean-Pierre Goulet. While Jordan was successful in defeating Goulet, the real story came during the match when the crowd began chanting “let’s go jobber”, in favor of this enhancement talent. If you’re wondering why this is bad, it’s because Jordan is still portrayed as a babyface and unless his gimmick is for him to be horrible at being a fan favorite, this simply just isn’t good.
It doesn’t help that last week, during his Miz TV segment, he didn’t get a warm reception Think about it, The Miz is considered one of the best heels the WWE has to offer right now. If he can’t make someone cheer for you, who in this world possibly can? Satan? Roman Reigns, maybe?
All jokes aside, this may not be as big a deal as it could be. If you recall, when Angle made his WWE debut in 1999, he was also presented as a babyface. If you remember his debut match, you also probably remember that he didn’t get over with the fans either. What happened then you ask? They turned him heel and almost two decades later, he has become a multiple time WWE Champion, a WWE Hall of Famer and arguably the greatest WWE Superstar to step foot in a WWE ring.

So what’s next for Jordan? Will he take after his storyline dad and turn heel? Will he continue to get booed week after week after week simply because no one is into the storyline or will things start to become interesting somehow, making a heel turn pointless? Well, one thing is clear: the Jordan-Angle storyline as of now is off on the road to the middle of nowheresville. That, of course, doesn’t mean something can’t change.
