1. Shield Reunion

When Dean Ambrose got drafted to Raw in April, fans instantly began clamoring to see a Shield reunion. So, perhaps the most intriguing possible storyline going into SummerSlam is the possibility of a Shield reunion.

Former Shield brethren Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins have been teaming up and helping each other out on Raw in recent weeks. Last week Rollins beat Sheamus, one-half of the Raw Tag Team Champions. After the match though. Sheamus and Cesaro jumped Rollins. Ambrose eventually made the save, but it was too late. Rollins was to beat down to help Ambrose out. Ambrose ended up taking a finisher from both Cesaro and Sheamus. And the tag champs walked out laughing at the pair they had left beaten up in the ring.

Afterward, Ambrose and Rollins were seen backstage still at odds with one another. But as Pro Wrestling Magazine reported in a tweet Ambrose and Rollins vs. Sheamus and Cesaro is expected to be added to the SummerSlam card. Along with many other matches named in the tweet.

One would assume that the match would be for the Raw Tag Team Titles. If it is then WWE’s plan becomes apparent.

Rollins and Ambrose will win the belts at SummerSlam, and then go on to help Reigns win the Universal Championship in the main event. Bringing the Shield back and returning them to their former glory. Except this time they’ll be stronger than before.

When the Shield was together before, none of the members held a major championship. Ambrose held the United States Championship, and Reigns and Rollins held the then WWE Tag Team Championships.

Now, with Reigns as Universal Champion and Rollins and Ambrose as tag champs, the trio will be more dangerous than before. Running roughshod over the Raw roster.

Plus, if WWE does this it gives room for them to bring together another trio to combat the Shield. You know a little stable referred to as The Balor Club, consisting of Finn Balor, Luke Gallows, and Karl Anderson.

Imagine the battles these two teams could have. Going back and forth, destroying each other on a weekly basis. Raw would be must see TV for the first time in a long while.

While some fans may not want to see another Roman Reigns title run, the storylines it could lead to mean a Reigns win at SummerSlam must happen. If WWE wants to continue to see the numbers for Raw continue to rise a Reigns win, and Shield reunion is the way to go about it.
