Predicting the winners and losers for this Sunday’s SummerSlam.
It’s been a very strange year for WWE pay per views so far. Almost Jekyll and Hyde-like. If you look at the Royal Rumble, Wrestlemania, and Great Balls of Fire, you’d think things were going pretty well as far as quality show standards go. But then you look at events like Fastlane, Money In The Bank, and last month’s Battleground, and suddenly you’re standing there scratching your head. It’s stunning to see a good show, followed shortly after by a show that most people regret having wasted 3-plus hours of their lives for. So as wrestling fans get ready for this Sunday’s SummerSlam, one has to wonder: what version of the WWE are we going to get?
On tap for “The Biggest Party of the Summer” are a whopping 12 matches, 8 of which are for titles, and a fatal 4-way main event that has the makings of an absolute classic. However, this year’s show is projected to be 6 hours long if you count the kickoff show. That’s an awfully long time when you’re pay per views haven’t been all that great recently. But being that Wrestlemania was of similar length, maybe they can pull off another strong showing like “The Showcase of the Immortals”.
So get ready. This could either turn out to be the best show of the year so far, or the longest 6 hours you’ve ever spent in front of a television. Ahead are your SummerSlam predictions.
