What Time Will WWE SummerSlam 2017 Start?
On Sunday night, the 2017 WWE SummerSlam pay-per-view will take place. What time can fans tune-in for the show?
For the third consecutive year, the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, NY will host WWE’s SummerSlam pay-per-view. It will be a four-hour show, with a two-hour Kickoff on Sunday night, August 20.
In 2015, WWE’s first SummerSlam at this venue, it saw a main event of Brock Lesnar vs. The Undertaker. This was the rematch of their WrestleMania 30 encounter, that saw Lesnar end Undertaker’s undefeated streak at the Show of Shows.
The Divas Revolution was also on the upswing. It had Team PCB vs. Team B.A.D. vs. Team Bella for bragging rights in the division. This wasn’t a memorable match but set the foundation for the Women’s Division.
Finally, there was Seth Rollins vs. John Cena for the United States and WWE World Heavyweight Championships. Rollins won, with some help from Jon Stewart.
At SummerSlam 2016, John Cena and AJ Styles had the second match in their series of three. This saw Styles win again, just like he did at Money in the Bank 2016.
The main event saw Lesnar and Randy Orton go head-to-head in battle of Superstars that joined the WWE in the same class of 2002. The Beast won via TKO, a rare finish used in matches.
As for the 2017 SummerSlam PPV, it will see Lesnar headline for the fourth consecutive year. He’ll defend the WWE Universal Championship against Roman Reigns, Braun Strowman and Samoa Joe. If the former Next Big Thing loses, he and Paul Heyman will leave the company.
Jinder Mahal and Shinsuke Nakamura will battle for the WWE Championship. Will Nakamura win his first main roster title?
