WWE No Mercy 2017 Match Card: Brock Lesnar vs. Braun Strowman Set
The WWE No Mercy pay-per-view received its first match announcement.
On Sunday, September 24, the Staples Center in Los Angeles, CA will host the WWE No Mercy pay-per-view. It’s the first year Raw will host this event, as SmackDown Live had it in October 2016. This saw AJ Styles retain the WWE Championship and Bray Wyatt defeat Randy Orton in the main event.
For the 2017 No Mercy show, the first match was announced on Monday night. This will see a main event of Brock Lesnar vs. Braun Strowman for the WWE Universal Championship.
In the opening segment of Raw, Lesnar and Strowman brawled, with it as a continuation of SummerSlam’s action between these two. When the Beast retained the title, it set up the inevitable matchup for the next PPV.
This will be Strowman’s second title match at a PPV and the first time he’ll headline a show in a one-on-one bout for a championship. He was in SummerSlam’s main event and headlined April’s Payback with Roman Reigns.
Strowman vs. Lesnar should be a full-scale affair of what happened at SummerSlam. This saw the Monster Among Men dispose of the Universal Champion like few others have. He hit a powerslam through two tables and just mauled Lesnar, making for a wild visual that got the Barclays Center hyped up.
