On this week’s edition of RAW, WWE planted the seeds for a Roman Reigns and John Cena feud. Suggesting that the plan for a Cena-Reigns match at WrestleMania isn’t on the cards.

If you missed Monday’s episode of WWE Raw, you would have missed John Cena calling out Roman Reigns, live, in Brooklyn. Labelled as a “free agent”, Cena arrived back on Raw, following an introduction from GM Kurt Angle.

Mr. Hustle, Loyalty, and Respect started off his in-ring promo by hyping up the crowd – in true John Cena fashion. Forever the professional; playing off chants by the crowd. Cena then commented on coming back to Raw, saying that he agreed to Kurt Angles’ deal, because he wanted go face-to-face with a “certain WWE Superstar.” Cena waited, then out came Roman Reigns.

After a quick back and forth, the two dropped their microphones, and were looking for a fight. Before any action could take place, The Miz interrupted – who cut, once again, an incredible promo. The current Intercontinental Champion had the crowd in the palm of his hand.

Samoa Joe then followed. Firstly talking smack to Roman, then turning his attention to Cena. He uttered a few words, then attempted to lay a beating on the returning Superstar. Roman Reigns came to the rescue, which preceded to set up a tag-team match for the main-event of Raw, featuring Samoa Joe and The Miz vs. Roman Reigns and John Cena.

So, all arrows point to John Cena vs. Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 34? Well, apparently not. According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, the current plan is still Brock Lesnar vs. Roman Reigns. At one point, Cena vs. Reigns was the plan for the main-event of WrestleMania. This was because the WWE briefly changed the SummerSlam main-event from being Brock Lesnar vs. Braun Strowman to Lesnar vs. Reigns.

WWE then later changed their minds, making the SummerSlam bout a Fatal 4-Way. During this time, the WWE also reportedly locked down the main-event of WrestleMania, changing it back to Brock Lesnar vs. Roman Reigns.

Lesnar is officially scheduled to battle Braun Strowman at next months No Mercy, in just under five weeks. Expect The Beast to retain, in what should be a great match, as the WWE continues to work towards the main event of WrestleMania.
