WWE SmackDown Rumors: Randy Orton, Rusev To Continue Feud?
Rusev lost in mere seconds to Randy Orton at SummerSlam, suffering a humiliating defeat that caused him to cut a promo on WWE SmackDown Live about how his family views him as a loser. The latest WWE Rumors have this feud continuing, so can Rusev finally get the better of Orton?
The Hell in a Cell Pay Per View is on the horizon, and the WWE SmackDown Live exclusive PPV already has two matches booked. Kevin Owens and Shane McMahon will clash inside of the Hell in a Cell, while Jinder Mahal will defend his championship against Shinsuke Nakamura after the latter defeated Randy Orton on an episode of SmackDown Live for the No. 1 contendership.
Orton’s loss is an indication that he will continue feuding with Rusev, whom he disposed of easily at SummerSlam by hitting an RKO immediately after the match started. Some wondered if Rusev could net an upset victory over “The Viper”, but those fans were quickly disappointed.
It marked yet another loss for Rusev, who was defeated by John Cena at Battleground in a “Flag Match”. Rusev’s return from injury was supposed to be a positive one, as he demanded a championship match from Shane McMahon for the Money in the Bank Pay Per View. Instead, he’s been losing and booked as an afterthought.
The latest rumors circling the WWE Universe state that Rusev and Orton will continue their nascent rivalry. A couple of weeks ago, these two met in the ring in a tag match, with Rusev partnering with Jinder and Orton joining forces with Nakamura. The babyfaces, Orton and Nakamura, unsurprisingly scored the victory, but a much-awaited face turn from Rusev was teased before the match (and his loss).
It doesn’t look like Rusev will be turning face for the foreseeable future, which is a real shame. Given his comedic chops and lack of direction as a standard foreign heel, Rusev could do so much better as a babyface.

These rumors state that Rusev and Orton will likely continue their rivalry until Hell in a Cell, and it will be interesting to see if Rusev can pull a win back. “The Bulgarian Brute” clearly deserves so much better, and Orton has been pushing other stars this year. Could Rusev be next, or will it be business as usual for him?
