Can NJPW rebound from their weak showing in Fukushima? With four Championship matches, who will steal the show at “Destruction in Hiroshima”?

NJPW are coming off their most critically-panned event of 2017, Destruction in Fukushima. The card for Destruction in Hiroshima promised some improvement at least, and the promotion was able to get back on track with a decent showing.

Once again, the undercard played out without much fanfare. Highlights included Rocky Romero and Baretta scoring a victory in their final match as an official tag team, as well as Kota Ibushi’s return to action. War Machine were victorious in the second three-way dance of the tour, building slightly on their previous match. That said, War Machine, G.O.D and K.E.S will need to bring out something special to invest fans in a match that has already lost all novelty value.

Prior to the two main events, CHAOS and L.I.J squared off in a ten-man tag with three rivalries at its core: Ospreay/Hiromu, Ishii/Naito and Okada/EVIL. The villains laid waste to CHAOS, making a point of causing as much damage as possible before King of Pro Wrestling.

Ultimately, there was a lot of skippable content in this show. Each of the other three title matches saved what was becoming a weak second stop on the Destruction tour.
