The Aussie Underdog’s odds at WWE No Mercy 2017 got even longer with Bayley entering the race; but can Emma pull off the huge upset?

We WWE fans are a cynical bunch.

As the Raw Women’s Championship picture moved towards WWE No Mercy 2017, Emma’s surprise inclusion started to make a lot more sense. With four-time Champion Sasha Banks, current Champion Alexa Bliss, and rising villain Nia Jax, Emma’s role looks rather clear. After all, someone needs to eat the pinfall, and three of the four competitors involved are strongly protected by WWE management.

Bayley’s return and subsequent inclusion in the title match don’t change things. She may have been in a slump, but WWE still see potential in her bubbly, child-friendly gimmick.

The true outsider here is Emma, scheduled for her first PPV appearance since the pre-show of WrestleMania 32. Could she do the unthinkable and capture her first Championship in WWE? Let’s take a look at what stands in her way.

The Money Feud – Sasha and Bayley

While Bayley’s return doesn’t shake things up in the short run, it certainly squeezes the room at the top of the Raw Women’s division.

Everyone who saw Bayley vs Sasha in either of their NXT Title matches knows what WWE have on their hands. Putting together two of the greatest women’s matches of the decade, Sasha and Bayley are now locked in a ‘will they, won’t they’ relationship. Their mutual respect and friendship has kept them from clashing one-on-one on a main roster PPV. But now, without Charlotte or Becky to distract them, Sasha and Bayley must take the top spot on the Raw brand.

A feud of this caliber demands a WrestleMania showdown. Therefore, WWE should not be opposed to the idea of letting Emma run with the title in the winter months. She would never go into ‘Mania season as Champion, but it would provide a fresh face for the two top stars to do battle with.
