It Extends the Feud

Love him or hate him but most people would agree that Cena was the promo teacher Roman never realized he needed.  Blame could be put on booking or writing.  Sure. Besides the Raw after WrestleMania opening segment where Roman was booed for 10+ minutes before saying “This is my yard now”, what other talking segment has he given you to remember?

This segment  reached almost 2 million views on YouTube. Since then, segments from matches with Braun Strowman have reached higher numbers. Its testament to the improvement of his in ring ability. But unlike Cena, you can’t send him out by himself to cut a 15+ minute promo that will be talked about for days after and most importantly, get the main stream attention WWE so desperately seeks.

Reigns also stated on the latest episode of the In This Corner podcast that his promo skills have actually improved because of his feud with Cena. He gave him credit saying that “it was nice to be able to change gears and get better at something” because with Cena “you either step up or you step aside.”

This feud could also be as big as Cena versus The Rock if done correctly. The more Cena steps one foot out the door, the more he’s becoming like a Brock Lesnar or The Rock. We all know Roman is getting tailored for the Cena role.

The only logical reason not to do this if a full Shield reunion is coming sooner than later. Going back in time to when Roman Reigns versus Seth Rollins versus Deam Ambrose was rushed due to the brand extensio could also be another possible next step for Reigns.

Iron sharpens iron, though. Who else is left for him to have a fresh feud with on the Raw roster?
