Cena is the real “big dog”

Well, if you listened to Reigns promo on September 11, you might believe otherwise. On their second battle at the mike, Reigns told Cena this: “You came to Monday Night Raw and you called me out and I’m wondering why that is. Maybe it’s because i’m selling the tickets that you haven’t sold in five years. That’s the thing. You say I’m not doing my job but ticket sales are great. Revenue is sky high. WWE can make it without you.”

Fightful.com has proven that business has gotten better in some aspects. Like they mentioned however, it is not Roman’s sole doing that “ticket sales are great” and “revenue is sky high”.

According to Fightful, both things are primarily due to the brand split adding more tour dates thus offering an additional stream of revenue and the WWE Network giving the WWE higher earnings than the old PPV model.  In fact, Fightful has also shown that Cena helps house show attendance. Roman makes little to no difference.

Before business changed, Cena was the one carrying the load and continuing the positive trajectory. Rating continue to decrease, though. Live show arenas continue to have more sections tarped off. No one man is going to fix this and too many behind the scenes factors have to change before one man fixes this.

But Cena still has a little more to give. The numbers prove that. Doing it opposite of Roman Reigns is the best way to way to lead to a post Cena WWE era.
