WWE SmackDown News: Triple H Advertised For Live Event

Currently, the hottest angle on WWE SmackDown Live is the rivalry between Kevin Owens and Shane McMahon that figures to be the main event of Hell in a Cell. But could Triple H spice up this storyline by getting involved?

Last year, Triple H involved himself in a Fatal Four-Way for Finn Balor’s vacated Universal Championship, handing the victory to Kevin Owens after screwing over Roman Reigns and his own former protege Seth Rollins. This storyline culminated in a solid WrestleMania 33 bout between Triple H and Rollins, in which the latter scored a cathartic victory to earn the title of “Kingslayer”.

If Triple H becomes involved in a storyline with Owens this year, he could do so as Owens’s rival. Generally at his best as a power-hungry heel, the “Cerebral Assassin” could be the babyface defending the honor of his family. Owens has antagonized Shane McMahon repeatedly, which is why he will be facing the boss’s son at Hell in a Cell inside of the structure. But Owens really crossed a whole different line when he head-butted Vince McMahon and then hit the chairman with a superkick and frog splash.

Fans have speculated that Triple H could get involved, and the fantasy booking could actually come to fruition. There’s no indication of what his involvement in the program will be, but the “King of Kings” is reportedly being advertised for a WWE SmackDown Live event in Lisbon, Portugal for Nov. 6.

That’s well after the Hell in a Cell pay per view, which will take place on Oct. 8. Owens could brutalize Shane to an incredible extent in that match before running amok on SmackDown Live, forcing Triple H to take control (one of his favorite words, of course) to rectify manners, even feuding with Owens eventually.

Or what if the WWE takes the even bolder step of having Triple H side with Owens? I mean, he already helped “The Prizefighter” out last year by handing him a world title.

Whatever the case, “The King of Kings” is one of the biggest legends in history, so his appearance at this live event should be entertaining no matter what.
