WWE SmackDown 5 Predictions For October 3, 2017

WWE SmackDown Live will present its fans with the go-home show for Hell in a Cell tonight, and hopefully we’ll get to see familiar faces sending impactful messages before their big matches at Sunday’s pay per view.

Despite the criticisms WWE SmackDown Live received over the summer, particularly with Jinder Mahal leading the way as WWE Champion, the show has given fans compelling television over the past several weeks. Throughout the month of September, SmackDown consistently delivered, as every segment, minus the racist ones involving Mahal, were either entertaining or pushed forward an important narrative. SmackDown had better shows than Raw on most weeks, which isn’t easy, given the high-profile feuds that we’ve seen on Monday nights lately.

SmackDown Live, however, has yet to deliver on a pay per view, and few can forget the disaster that was Battleground. Hell in a Cell is the “Blue Brand”s chance to deliver in a big way, and they clearly aren’t messing around with Kevin Owens and Shane McMahon set to clash in the main event inside of Hell in a Cell.

The go-home show needs to make strong statements to entice viewers to watch this pay per view, and hopefully it allows viewers to believe that they will be in for a much better show than what we’ve seen at some of the other recent SmackDown Live-exclusive pay per views like Backlash and Battleground.

Follow along for five predictions for tonight’s episode of SmackDown, which will always be the “A” show in my heart.
