John Cena No Longer Advertised for Survivor Series

John Cena will be missing the iconic WWE Survivor Series 2017 pay-per-view, one in which, he was previously advertised for.

Following No Mercy 2017, the WWE haven’t been pushing for any storyline involving John Cena. And due to the impression he gave off following his match against Roman Reigns at the event, some fans believed the 16x Champion was retiring.

It’s clear to see that Cena will miss the Raw branded PPV TLC, and he is also expected to miss Raws leading up to Survivor Series.

However, one thing that was reportedly set in stone was that Cena would be appearing at the Survivor Series 2017 PPV. But now, that doesn’t seem to be the case.

Not only will John Cena miss Survivor Series, but he will be missing from every WWE show until he’s scheduled to return after Christmas.

If you’re looking for proof of Cena’s absence, head over to the Survivor Series 2017 page on WWE.com, where you will see that the former US Champion is no longer listed under featured Superstars for the event.

The only dates released at the moment for Cena are as follows:

  • Tuesday, December 26: Madison Square Garden, New York, NY, (RAW)
  • Wednesday, December 27: Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum, Uniondale, NY (RAW)
  • Friday, December 29: Times Union Center, Albany, NY (RAW)
  • Saturday, Dec 30: Amalie Arena in Tampa, FL (SmackDown)

So it seems as if part-time John Cena, is actually going part-time. Funny, huh?

During his time away Cena will most likely be doing his usual WWE commitments – be they talk shows, special appearances for charities, etc. As well as filming for movie commitments coming up promptly.

Let it be known that Cena won’t be sitting around doing nothing, he never does. He’ll be working just as hard as he always does, just not on WWE TV (for now).

The rumour going around for John Cena’s opponent at Survivor Series was Bray Wyatt — which obviously won’t be taking place. Expect to see Wyatt face-off against Balor (again) if the WWE don’t decide to move either Wyatt or Balor into another program.

As far as Cena goes, yes, he’s finally moving on – well, sort of. Feels strange doesn’t it? The days many fans thought they’d savour is now becoming a reality, and for me anyway, it’s a sweet and sour sort of feeling.
