Stephanie McMahon Must Really Want Conor McGregor in WWE

In an age where the WWE and the UFC have a solid business relationship, is that far fetched to think that Conor McGregor could be seen on WWE TV? Either way, it won’t stop Stephanie McMahon from putting the Irishman over.

The WWE is quickly becoming the new place for former UFC stars to earn a living. Look at Shayna Baszler, a once MMA athlete, who has now turned her attention to Sports Entertainment. Look at Ronda Rousey, a UFC mega-star, who could potentially join in the WWE action.

The pro wrestling juggernaut is a place for any athlete to thrive in, especially someone as talented as Conor McGregor.

The man who recently ‘danced around the ring for hundreds of millions of dollars’ certainly has the drawing power, marketability, and character to become a successful Superstar. And it seems as if Stephanie agrees.

“I think Conor would be a perfect fit with WWE,” said McMahon, speaking at a Leaders in Sports convention at Stamford Bridge. (H/T: The Mirror)

She then continues by saying he “certainly has the personality and the athletic ability, the appeal.” Finally, she compares to the Irish Warrior to her father; “he speaks his mind, he’s very genuine and authentic and he has a hell of a Vince McMahon swagger.”

I mean, she’s not wrong. If McGregor did join the WWE, I think it may feel like they’d be two McMahon’s strutting around the arena. However, the chances of McGregor switching over to Sports Entertainment is very low.

Also, I think Stephanie may have forgotten about the time he basically buried the WWE’s roster.

Clearly, it was said in tongue and cheek. However, in past interviews, McGregor has stuck with this statement, mentioning that he doesn’t “give a (bleep) about Vince McMahon”, regarding him stealing his icon strut to the ring. So who knows McGregor is really thinking?
