WWE Rumors: Samoa Joe’s Returning Feud Revealed?
By Harry Austen
WWE Superstar Samoa Joe, who is currently out injured, will reportedly be involved in a big feud upon his return.
The Samoan Submission Machine has been out of action since late August. He suffered a minor knee injury at a WWE live event and is expected to be back promptly.
The initial timetable for his return pinpointed a date between the Sept. 29 and Oct. 13, However, clearly the estimated date for September has passed, and a return for next week doesn’t seem all that likely. When the news first broke, Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer noted that Joe was expected to be back at the end of October, which seems like a better guess. (H/T: 411Mania)
Luckily for Joe, he hasn’t missed out on any major angle or storyline. Dave Metlzer also noted that Joe wasn’t set to feature in a big match following SummerSlam (just before his injury).
However, it now seems upon his return that Samoa Joe will be involved in a big feud – one which involves an NXT alumni.
During a recent installment of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer was questioned on Samoa Joe, more specifically, when he’s returning and who he will be feuding with [H/T: Ringside News].
Meltzer stated that all the current top feuds are in motion for the upcoming TLC pay-per-view event, moreover, the only Superstar without an actual role in show is Braun Strowman. And he therefore alluded to Joe facing Strowman — if Joe is to return before TLC.
However, if Joe doesn’t make it back in time to TLC, Metzler than stated that Finn Balor could also be possible opponent.
Currently, there are rumours going around that Balor could be facing Brock Lesnar at Survivor Series. Conversely, according to Meltzer, if the WWE decide to change their minds on Balor facing Brock, Joe will likely start a feud with Balor — following TLC.
In all honesty, I wouldn’t mind seeing Joe in either program. Joe versus Strowman, one-on-one, sounds like one hell of a match. And it could do wonders for Strowman, following his big loss to Lesnar, and help with building back up credibility.

Equally, a feud with Balor sounds good. Currently, it seems as if Balor is locked in a feud with Wyatt, and at this point, people aren’t all that invested in it. Hopefully, the arrival of ‘Sister Abigail’ will help, but for the most part, the feud should reach it’s climax soon. And once is does, a returning Joe against the former Universal Champion sounds intriguing.
