WWE Rumors: Is Ricochet About To Sign?

Ricochet is one of the greatest in-ring performers in the world, and WWE has reportedly had their eyes set on him for some time. Could “Prince Puma” finally choose to sign with Vince McMahon’s promotion?

Whether it’s a dazzling match with Will Ospreay or a multi-faceted spin on the big man vs. high-flyer match with Keith Lee, Ricochet is capable of pulling an instant classic with just about anyone. Ricochet is one of the most recognizable stars in the world outside of WWE, lighting it up for Ring of Honor, WCPW, NJPW, Lucha Underground, and whichever other promotion he’s booked to wrestle a match.

Wrestling News World’s Brendan Wahl is reporting that Ricochet is on his way to sign with WWE, and WNW adds that he will take November off [H/T UPROXX]. Wahl writes that because Ricochet cannot wrestle with WWE (or any other televised match in the United States) until 90 days after Lucha Underground’s Season 3 is finished airing, so he could sign a contract now and then appear on WWE programming in mid-January.

Ricochet would be an exciting add to a stacked WWE roster, and we’ve already seen the early impact that Adam Cole and his Undisputed Era (Bobby Fish and Kyle O’Reilly as his partners in crime) are having in NXT. While Ricochet doesn’t have Cole’s mic skills, he is charismatic in his own way and is an even bigger spectacle in the ring. He could easily be a top star in WWE, so I wouldn’t even think about the silly idea of throwing him onto the wasteland that is 205 Live.

Recently, Ricochet dropped the IWGP tag team titles, lending credence to the report that a deal is coming. It wouldn’t be a surprise to see him join the world’s largest promotion, and hopefully the WWE can take full advantage of his unique gifts.
