The SmackDown Live Tag Team Division

Highlights of the division

The Usos and the New Day tore the house down in their Hell in a Cell match but the Samoan twins walked away with the gold to conclude their rivalry. It seems like WWE wants to milk the new personas of the Usos for as much as they can since the New Day already had their run on Raw as the longest reigning champs in WWE history.

Even though the Usos were complementing the New Day on SmackDown Live, they are still the top heels of the division. Running down the rest of the division like they aren’t in the same league as these two legendary teams was a head scratcher.

Which is why seeing Chad Gable and Shelton Benjamin winning their fatal 4 way match to get a crack at the tag team gold will be so fascinating to watch. This newly formed team was only made less than two months ago but were primed and ready to make a title run if the opportunity presented itself. Both Gable and Benjamin are fantastic in the ring but they’ll need to showcase their wits on the mic to be on the same footing as the reigning tag champs. If they can’t and just rely solely on their wrestling, they’ll meet the same fate American Alpha did and become irrelevant.

Meanwhile, for the rest of the division….

It’s about time that Erick Rowan and Luke Harper finally reunited as a tag team once again. They have always been more formidable as a unit than as individuals. This division is in dire need of two monsters wreaking havoc just to get their hands on championship gold. They could be perfect foes for the New Day since they are out of the title picture at the moment. These two teams battling it out for who should be getting the next crack at the SmackDown Live Tag Team Championships would be amazing.

Let’s see the rankings for the division this week.
