WWE SmackDown 5 Predictions: Can Dolph Ziggler Score An Upset?
4. Becky Lynch Builds More Momentum
The inaugural SmackDown Women’s Champion, Becky Lynch obtained some much-needed momentum last week by defeating Carmella, who has been up to her usual shenanigans with “valet” James Ellsworth. Carmella has her sights set on Natalya’s championship, which is currently being contested by the genetically superior one herself, Charlotte Flair.
But Becky remains lurking in the shadows, and while it may not seem like it, the folks writing the show at SmackDown Live are well-aware of how popular Lynch is. I mean, the undying adoration from the live audience is impossible to ignore, even if you are of the belief that the WWE decision-makers are lacking in acuity in all sensory organs.
Lynch showed the world that she is capable of producing the most fiery babyface promos in the company during her feud with Alexa Bliss, and I can’t help but think that it would be wise to hear some more passion from her again. The WWE has given her some segments, but they need to let her shine on the microphone.
That hasn’t happened lately, and I hope Lynch gets a chance to make her presence felt. She needs to remind people that she is still in the hunt, and since the WWE is hell-bent on having all of their legitimate women’s feuds revolve around a solitary title, then the least they could do is let them talk.
