WWE: Could Alicia Fox Be Women’s Champion in the Future?

Alicia Fox has reached a milestone with WWE in 2017, being with the company for ten years.  Is the best yet to come for her?

It is safe to say that Alicia Fox is one of the more underrated talents when it comes to the WWE roster as a whole.  Over time, Fox has gotten better with her ring work and lent her hand to the success of the Divas Revolution.  Most recently, she was tapped to bring her star power to the Cruiserweight Division, going between relationships with Cedric Alexander and Noam Dar.

Much like Natalya, Fox has had opportunities for the Divas and Women’s Championship but failed in capturing gold.  Natalya’s gold drought ended at SummerSlam, capturing the SmackDown Women’s Championship.  It had been seven years since Natalya held a Championship.  Now that her efforts have been rewarded, could Fox follow Natalya’s path?

A surprising win over Sasha Banks earlier this summer sparked outrage among fans who felt Fox wasn’t deserving of a win over her.  It seems that WWE is revisiting their small feud, with Fox tapping out to the Bank Statement last week on Raw in the Fatal Five Way match.  The two squared off in a one on one match, which showed Fox’s growth as a competitor in her ten years with the company.  Even though she was on the losing end, Fox doesn’t look to be stopping anytime soon.

Fox has a lot of promise, in addition to her and Banks having good chemistry.  Seeing these two women in a secondary feud could bring much more for them if the company will commit to seeing them grow and progress every week on Raw.  In the past, Fox has been victim of start and stop feuds when the company pushed her and it ended as fast as it started.  It did no favors for Fox, who has done what was asked of her despite the outcomes.

One common thread for Fox is that the wild and crazy attitude of the character does work for her.  However, WWE could really maximize Fox’s impact in the Raw Women’s Division given her skills and seniority.  The time that could be dedicated to Fox gives fans insight as to why she’s been with the company so long.  The commentary on Monday buttered Fox up with compliments as she wrestled Banks, which that is a good thing.  They also hinted that Fox could be in the hunt for the Raw Women’s Championship.  One would think that Fox could be up to the challenge for the  Championship down the road.

Fox got her first WWE T-shirt this week, which is big for her considering her tenure with WWE.  It is perplexing that she didn’t have one piece of merchandise prior to that.  Having her own shirt could be the start of something new for the former Divas Champion.  Fox needs the attention and deserves the commitment.  She’s worked hard enough to prove her worth to the division.

Seeing Fox’s intense attitude on Monday is a promising sign that the tide will change for her.  Her backstage attack on Banks makes things personal now.  Fox and Banks will square off once more on the TLC Kickoff show on Sunday night.  Hopefully it is not the end, but the start of something better.
