5. Chris Adonis’s Skills Showcased in the Ring

Last week, Johnny Impact became the number one contender for Eli Drake’s GFW Global Championship.  After his match, Chris Adonis attacked Johnny Impact with a wooden board.  Impact had one way to settle what has turned into a grudge and that going one on one.  Johnny Impact, being the fight man that he is, felt that it was cheap how Adonis did the dirty work for Eli Drake.

Johnny Impact turned up the tempo early in the match but Chris Adonis quickly slowed down the pace.  His use of bear hugs and powerslams weakened the challenger for the Global Championship.  Adonis continue to wear down Impact to set up his signature Adonis lock.  Impact fights out of the once unbreakable Adonis lock by jumping over the ropes causing a rope break.  This allows Impact to fight his way back into the match.

Impact turns up the aggression using stiff strikes which are usually in his move set.  The methodical attack didn’t last long as Impact follows up with the athleticism he is known for.  Johnny Impact ends the match with his Countdown to Impact, inverted 450 splash. After the match, Drake tries to come in and attack Impact but he has it scouted.  Impact embarasses the champion by whipping him with his own belt until Chris Adonis gets involved.  They attack the challenger until Garza Jr comes out to help

It was nice to finally see Chris Adonis in the ring again.  He doesn’t get many opportunities since most of the focus is on Eli Drake.  This made for an entertaining match which Impact having to adjust to the unmatched strength of Chris Adonis.  Johnny Impact seems like he finally got the last word on Adonis and Drake but that was not the case.
