WWE Rumors: Sin Cara Getting Push Due To New Contract

The latest WWE rumors pinpoint the reason for Sin Cara’s recent push on SmackDown Live, which includes a pair of victories over Baron Corbin.

Perhaps most famous for his no-nonsense attitude, Sin Cara is in the midst of a bit of a renaissance on WWE television. The “Faceless” luchador moved from Raw to SmackDown in the “Superstar Shakeup”, but prior to October, he only had one match on SmackDown Live. That bout came against Dolph Ziggler, and Sin Cara shined in the loss, getting most of the offense in. He and “The Show-Off” tore it up on house shows before he finally received a push this month.

The WWE’s willingness to utilize him has been refreshing, but it’s taken some fans by surprise as it has come from out of nowhere. PWInsider.com’s Mike Johnson has been on fire with breaking news, and he reports that Sin Cara’s recent push is due to a “multi-year contract” that he has signed.

It’s good to hear that Sin Cara should be with the company for a few more years, and it’s even better to see that they are finding some use for an underrated performer. After losing in the Independence Day Battle Royale as one of many nondescript names, Sin Cara has back-to-back wins over current United States Champion Baron Corbin, who is in the midst of his own push after defeating AJ Styles on back-to-back nights to secure the championship.

It is doubtful for Sin Cara to win the title, but he should get a shot at Corbin tonight on SmackDown Live has we head into Survivor Series. Sin Cara is a well-respected wrestler whose speed and quickness are only matched by his under-appreciated strength. His recent promo on SmackDown was also above-average, so hopefully he can settle into a nice mid-card role with a few more notable victories to come. Oh, and his awesome ring gear doesn’t hurt either.
