WWE Raw: 5 Superstars That Could Dethrone Miz As Intercontinental Champion

1 of 6

The Miz’s latest run with the Intercontinental Championship on WWE Raw has lasted 155 days and counting, so who will be the one to finally dethrone the ‘prestigious’ champ?

The Miz, despite being WWE Raw’s secondary champion, has elevated himself and his belt to the main event scene of Raw in the absence of Brock Lesnar and his Universal Championship. The Miz has played the role beautifully by demanding respect yet hiding behind his Miztourage for title defenses.

Speaking of title defenses, it has been a while since The Miz has defended his title on a PPV. At SummerSlam, he took part in a pre show tag match, and at TLC, he took part in the main event TLC match. Also, at Survivor Series, he will be facing Baron Corbin, the United States Champion, in a match where neither belt will be on the line.

So, with The Miz involved in other storylines throughout his time as champ, that leaves plenty of challengers open and willing to take his spot as the top champion on Raw (since we know Lesnar won’t be showing up full time any time soon).

The only question is who will be worthy of defeating The Miz for the belt? The Miz has held the strap seven times for a combined 510 days. That is only less than Pedro Morales and Don Muraco in the history of the Intercontinental Championship.

The Miz is basically synonymous with the Intercontinental Championship at this point, and it has been elevated while being over his shoulder, so who will be the Superstar to take advantage of the opportunity and become the next Intercontinental Champion?
