WWE SmackDown: Where To Next For Jinder Mahal?

facebooktwitterreddit

In a shocking and surprising move, the WWE Title has changed hands! Jinder Mahal’s reign as champion has come to an end, with AJ Styles picking up the victory and the title. Where does the Modern Day Maharajah go from here?

I don’t think anyone could have predicted that the WWE Title was going to change hands before Survivor Series. Not only that but for the title change to happen on SmackDown, whilst they tour the United Kingdom. AJ Styles has become the new WWE Champion, and he will take on Brock Lesnar at Survivor Series. Jinder Mahal has lost the title, the title he has successfully defended for months after his surprise win at BackLash

The question now remains, what is next for Mahal? Unless he causes trouble on next week’s SmackDown about John Cena being picked as the 5th member of the team he likely won’t be apart of that unfortunately. He is guaranteed a rematch, when that will happen we shall see.

After such a huge loss, it would make sense for his feud with AJ Styles to continue, now he really has nothing to lose and everything to gain. Their feud so far has been really good, and probably the best feud that Mahal has had so far this year. In fact, Styles gave Mahal his best match this year and it would be a crime to not see them lock horns again.

There are other things that Mahal can do. There is an opportunity to keep his feud with Styles going and actually interfere in the Lesnar match. He can make an impact at Survivor Series by showing up to that match and causing trouble.

Not only would that keep things going, but he will get intense heat as well and that helps his heel persona. It’s the match that he believes he should have rightfully been in. There is a story to be told here, and with the great booking we have seen so far this could be the right way to move forward.

As for whether Jinder Mahal will get the WWE Title back? Well the WWE are set to tour India next month and I am sure they will continue the Mahal/Styles feud until then.

It could be a huge shock and surprise if Mahal actually got the title back in India, in a move that could be more shocking than this weeks events. Something of that magnitude would make big headlines, and it would continue with the theme to expect the unexpected. With so many possibilities for Jinder Mahal, this loss could just be the beginning.

Is it possible that all of these things could happen? Could we see Jinder Mahal interefere in the Champion vs. Champion match, continue to feud with Styles and win the title back in India? Time will tell, but we all shall be watching to see what in the world is going to happen next in the WWE.
