After 30-plus years of the annual show, what performers stand out the most at Survivor Series?
Last year the WWE hosted the 30th installment of Survivor Series. The first four years of the show, 1987-1990, featured only elimination style, multi-superstar matches, the principle of what the show is about. But in 1990 that changed when that event hosted an Undertaker/Hulk Hogan WWF title match to go along with four elimination matches. From there the following annual shows were a mix of all types of bouts with a couple of the namesake matches thrown in. This year is no different. With the company operating two main roster brands, the opposing shows will do battle with two elimination matches scheduled and a host of others.
So with Survivor Series being a somewhat unique yearly offering it gives superstars the chance to shine in a number of different ways. They can be a dominant member of a large team, win a basic singles match, challenge for a title, or even participate in some type of gimmick match. Survivor Series has even hosted an Elimination Chamber.
So with all the variety involved, which superstars have managed to shine the most? To be one of the best Survivor Series performers, one must be successful in being victorious but also manage to put on great matches, even in defeat.
So who’s done it the best over the years? Read ahead to find out.
