2. Roman Reigns Winning Intercontinental Championship is Good Across the Board

The Miz has prided himself on giving the Intercontinental Championship meaning, and he had done a great job of doing just that.  But through no fault of his own, the title had become more or less a prop in recent memory being very rarely defended.

That all changed last night when during a Miz TV segment with Roman Reigns and the rest of The Shield, Reigns challenged Miz for the Intercontinental Championship.  Raw GM Kurt Angled obliged and gave The Big Dog a shot at the title in the main event of last night’s Raw.

Reigns had a previous title opportunity against The Miz in weeks prior, but it never got to a legit point.  However, last night’s match did in a big way.  The match itself was very solid from both individuals and as The Bar and the rest of The Shield got involved at the end, things picked up.

After Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose thwarted off the threats of Sheamus and Cesaro, Reigns capitalized with a spear to Miz to win his first-ever Intercontinental Championship.  With the win, Reigns is now a grand slam champion and by winning the belt, everything across the board improves.  The belt gets a new change of scenery to a top guy, The Shield gets a championship, The Miz can become an eight-time Intercontinental Champion with another win, and he can now move into a more prominent role in the future beyond the Intercontinental Championship.

The Big Dog winning the gold should help out all parties involved and this adds another layer to The Shield’s reemergence as the top trio in the WWE.
