WWE 5 Burning Questions: Will The Shield Capture Tag Team Gold?

1 of 6

What were the biggest questions the superstars of WWE Raw and SmackDown left in the ring this week?

WWE continued its trend of title changes this week as Roman Reigns completed his Grand Slam, defeating the Miz for the Intercontinental title. The bout main evented Monday Night Raw. On Tuesday though, a convoluted Lumberjack match marked the end of the show, in which the heels, Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens prevailed over the New Day.

There was much on the card for the women’s division this week on both shows. WWE produced parallel storylines of a women’s stable targeting babyfaces and heels on both shows. On Monday night, Paige would make her highly anticipated return to the ring in over a week. However, she wasn’t alone. NXT call-ups Mandy Ross and Sonya Deville would align with Paige and put the entire division on notice.

On Tuesday though, things took the exact same turn, with the exception that all three women were NXT call-ups. Ruby Riot would lead Sarah Logan and Liv Morgan to a literal riot on the Women’s division. They would take out everybody from Charlotte to Naomi without provocation. Both the debuting stables were impressive. But Riot and company felt more vicious, almost reminiscent of an alternate version of the Shield.

Elsewhere on the card, Jason Jordan, Braun Strowman and Kane all made tiny progresses, advancing their respective storylines. Braun proved once again that he is as reliable as he could ever be in being a main eventer and a future champion. What were the biggest questions from the week though? Here are my five burning questions for the week in WWE.
